We stock an array of vitamin, mineral and herbal raw ingredients. We can supply ingredients and source hard to find specialty ingredients for your formula.

Each raw ingredient has many degrees in the vitamin industry. Yes, you can go with the cheaper ingredients but in most cases these ingredients are “you get what you paid for.” If you are looking for a bioavailable, high potency, pure ingredient, then you need to find the right raw material supplier.

The raw material suppliers industry is huge and with all degrees of raw ingredients available worldwide. So how do you pick the right raw ingredient supplier? This is where the importance of our hazard analysis and mitigations come into play.

A Peek Into Our Rigorous Vendor Approval Program

We call it a Hazard Analysis Review because no matter how good your sources are all ingredients and companies have inherent hazards. It is our duty to protect our customers from these hazards, and to provide the best ingredients available from the best sources.

Following NSF guidelines, First Priority Manufacturing maintains a robust hazard analysis program that reviews the potential for risks associated with each ingredients manufacturer.

First, four members of our quality team review the quality program of a potential vendor, utilizing physical audits, interviews, testing method validations, and background checks for past or current regulatory issues.

Next, all compiled information is brought to a classification session. During this session, the documents and ingredients supplied by the potential vendor are reviewed.

Potential hazards are considered, such as country of origin, inherent ingredient hazards (mold, E. coli, Salmonela, etc.) or economical adulteration potentials.

After all potential hazards have been agreed on and classified, the probability of such hazards occurring is determined by using a classification from frequent (1 in 5 purchases) all the way down to extremely unlikely ( 1 in 10,000 purchases). These assessments and classifications are determined by scientific methods, observations, real-life testing protocols, and industry knowledge of economically generated adulterations. Last, using the severity and probability, a risk level is determined.

By determining the risks and risks levels of a potential vendor we can identify testing protocols and mitigations. We do this, even for the best vendors, to ensure they maintain their quality standards. Plus by validating their quality before they are approved for use, we are able to eliminate substandard vendors and their ingredients from our process.

Remember your end result is only ever as good as the quality of your ingredients.

We do not take the word of raw ingredient suppliers or their paperwork submitted for the COA (certificate of analysis). We require our ingredient suppliers to submit flowcharts and have full disclosure of how they process materials so that we can then disclose this information to you, the customer!  If a supplier chooses not to submit these documents our quality control personnel reject these incoming raw materials.

Any raw material that arrives at our warehouse is immediately put in locked quarantine. Testing begins immediately in our in-house laboratory to verify that all documented COA from the manufacturer is accurate in terms of the materials’ identity, purity and potency and that it is free from any contamination. Once all this has been verified and released from our laboratory , it can then be released from quarantine and go into our vast inventory, of raw ingredients.

Our in-house manufacturing facility and laboratory are located in the USA.
